The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced the 39
participants in its Enlace Mid-level Leadership Program, naming Andy Espinoza, Cochise College’s director of
Student Leadership & Activities and advisor for the Student Government Association,
among the group to begin the program this fall.
Espinoza’s career in higher education began when he worked as a student employee in
the college’s Student Services department. “Supporting students through the admissions
process quickly sparked my passion for helping others navigate their educational journey
and it opened my eyes to the impact higher education can have on individuals and communities,”
Espinoza said.
The six-month leadership development program for mid-level college and university
professionals is designed to increase the number, variety, and quality of talent in
leadership positions at Hispanic-Serving Institutions and in higher education overall.
“I am honored to be nominated and supported by my colleagues and senior leadership
at Cochise College. Their encouragement has motivated my commitment to student-centered
leadership,” he added. “The Enlance Program will allow me to grow as a leader, and I am most excited to learn from others
and exchange best practices.”
Participants in the program will explore academic and student affairs management,
regional institutional accreditation, and higher education advocacy issues. Sessions
will be delivered through a series of online meetings and in-person sessions that
will take place in November 2025 at HACU’s Annual Conference in Aurora, Colorado and
at the National Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C., in April 2026. The program will
conclude with a graduation ceremony.
